Please join us as we welcome Keith Lancaster for a weekend of singing. Keith will be here Sunday April 15, 2012. He will be leading our bible study class as well as leading us in singing for morning worship. After church we will be having a potluck lunch. After lunch around 1:30 PM we will have the Prasie & Harmony Workshop. The workshop will not only edify your members and visitors, but also bring glory to God.
What you can expect During the workshop Keith will touch on some of the history of the a cappella movement and spend a few minutes talking about shape-notes and light musical theory. This is the perfect time to invite your neighbors in the community to enjoy a wonderful time of fellowship and outstanding singing.
Invite, Invite Invite The Praise and Harmony Workshop is not only a great benefit for our congregation, but also a great tool for outreach. We encourage you to invite your friends and neighbors, other local churches, and anyone who might enjoy tremendous singing.
Who is Keith Lanster? In 1982, a young Keith Lancaster had a dream to spread the Gospel through the unique form of a cappella music. Lancaster's dream lead to the creation of Acappella Ministries in his hometown of Paris, TN. The Ministries formed a quartet that became known as Acappella.

Our teens are very active. During the month of December they did out reach ministries like baking cookies and sharing them with people in the community. They did Christmas caroling and lots of fun fellowship. Recently they have been talking about community outreach and different types of community service that that they become involved in. Of course they are counting down the days to Camp Blue Haven. They are so very excited and can't wait to go back to camp. This past summer there were about 25 kids who attended camp and 11 of our kids decided to put on Christ in baptism. We were thrilled with their obedience! The Lord continues to work in the hearts of our kids 2 more decided to be baptized after returning home from camp. We are so very proud of our kids! We pray that our Lord continue to work in their lives and guide them. Just as a reminder if you need help paying for camp contact Damon.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Galatians 2:20 - My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Philippians 3:13-14 - Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. |

Vacation Bible School
For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder. I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
-- 1 Corinthians 3:9-11
Our vacation bible school this year was a great success. The theme this year came out of 1 Corinthians and 1 Peter. Our kids learned about building up God’s house. They made crafts such as tool boxes and tool belts to take home. The children were very excited and entertained with the games. The kids made their way through the obstacle course, popped balloons to guess the scripture and played a trivia game. On Saturday the kids invited their parents to lunch and it was a wonderful time of sharing. Our goal this year was to have 50 kids come to VBS and on the very first day of VBS we exceeded our goal by 13. During the day on Thursday we had 63 kids and 40 adults, on Friday we had 67 kids and 47 adults and on Saturday we had 57 kids and 70 adults. While the kids were in class learning, the adults were also deep in the Word. Brother Luis Talamantes brought studies during the mornings and on Thursday and Friday evenings. This was the second year we hosted a VBS. It was exciting, uplifting, and fun for all. It was encouraging as we worked together to honor Him. It is our hope and prayer that all things at this year’s VBS was done to glorify God and encourage His church here in Las Vegas.
